The Shopping Portal is projected to launch 1st quarter of 2009. As you're now aware, the DubliNation.com auction site just launched in the United States on October 4, 2008. As the customer base grows, due to the uniqueness of the auction portal, Dubli will then launch the Shopping side. This will be utilized almost like a search engine. Customer's will have the ability to type in products, manufacturer's, etc into the search area, the Dubli Shopping portal will search the internet for the least expensive prices. This is not an auction, just a resource to buy products the traditional way, at the cheapest prices. Entrepreneurs with e-commerce sites will have the ability to participate on the Shopping portal for maximun exposure and the ability to compete with the "Big" boys. However, at the end of the day, the consumer really wins by finding what they're looking for, for the cheapest price in a timely fashion. Therefore, they'll keep coming back.
From a Business Associates prospective, the big business can be on the Shopping side because every time a customer clicks over to that Shopping portal, and then clicks-through to a merchant’s website, DubLi gets paid a click-through fee by the merchant, and those fees can range from a few cents per click-through to a few dollars. And 30% of that revenue is commissionable if that customer is registered under your license number.
So DubLi’s shopping model is just like Google’s, or Amazon’s, or eBay’s. Google’s hook is “search”, but they make money when you click through to a merchant. Amazon started with “books”. Ebay was all about auctions. But when you go to eBay’s auctions, they’re trying to get you to click over to Shopping.com. Why? Because Shopping.com (which is owned by eBay) generates billions of dollars a year in click-through revenue. DubLi’s model is the same, but as you just saw, DubLi’s auctions are way more interesting and Dubli has found a way to pay commissions to it's Business Associates on all of that generated revenue.
